João Dias Carrasqueira Flutist and composer, was born in Paranapiacaba (State of Sao Paulo, Brazil), on April 3, 1908, and died on May 14, 2000, in Sao Paulo. In 1966 he received a prize from the São Paulo Association of Critics of Arts as Best Recitalist, after his performance of the complete Bach Sonatas with harpsichordist Aldo Hollnagel, as well as for his performance of the works for flute and orchestra of the same author, with the Orchestra of the Bach Society of São Paulo.
